Time Out

So, I've taken some time out last year: travel, sketching, painting in far flung locations, getting married, going on honeymoon etc. It was a busy year. The current work is coming along nicely and will be added 1st to 2nd quarter next year now, thanks to the situation we've all been going through this year. The year has been a challenging one for us all.

Taking a little time out will, I hope, have brought new inspiration, new ideas finding their way into my latest work. The ongoing work of finishing pieces from the previous year continues alongside framing, photography for new print runs and all the other peripherals of staying creative.

Just to keep the pressure up, I'm relocating to Devon: dramatic scenery and wonderful light are just too much to resist. This obviously takes a little time and organisation but I should be back up to full steam soon.

I will post updates on here towards the end of the year and in the interim on Twitter and FB.

This is one of the Westonbirt series I have been working on outside and it seems to be coming along nicely. It's the charcoal burner that they've recently set up. I've added a snapshot so you can see the idea, although it was way too sunny to get the exposure correct and my eventual easel position was more to the left. A great day out sketching and prepping for this one and I think I will go back to finish it in situ if there is time. Keep you posted on the knew works ASAP.
